This Is an Average Workday for Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle, the former “Suits” star and wife to the semi-estranged Prince Harry, likes to keep a busy schedule throughout the day even though she now has two growing children.

The married couple has been enjoying life in California ever since they decided to remove themselves from the duties of the royal family back in 2021. While they undoubtedly spend considerable time running after their two children, Archie and Lilibet, the Duchess of Sussex continues to keep a busy day-to-day schedule.

When asked by Variety what a typical workday looks like, Markle replied, “We share an office. We work from home, as most people started to do during lockdown. It allows us to have significant time with our kids at this really special moment in their lives. We’ll never get this time back.”

Each morning, Markle follows a simple routine that prepares their family for the day.

“I make breakfast, and we get the kids set for the day. We do a lot of joint calls and Zooms, but also try to divide what we can focus our energies on so we can accomplish even more,” she said.

While Markle and Harry are happy they can work from home, they admit it can be difficult from time to time when trying to separate work from family.

Harry told Today in a separate interview: “This whole working from home stuff is not all it’s cracked up to be, certainly post-COVID, because it’s really hard when your kids and you are in the same place. It’s really hard to separate the work from them because they kind of overlap. I mean, Archie spends more time interrupting our Zoom calls than anybody else. But he also gets us off them as well, so that’s also a nice thing.”

Speaking about Harry’s work life, Markle told Variety, “My husband is on a 24-hour time zone, where half of your life is waking up as the other half is going to sleep. It’s kind of the reverse of what I went through living in the U.K. He’s very good at responding on text. Me, I try to be as fast as possible on email. I’ve always said, if it takes less than five minutes, do it now.”

Earlier this year, it was announced Markle’s popular “Archetypes” podcast would not be continuing with a second season. Markle signed a multimillion dollar deal with Spotify in 2020 and garnered some success by interviewing guests such as Serena Willimas, Mindy Kaling, and Paris Hilton.

With the podcast’s ax, many fans were quick to question whether or not Markle would return to acting. But it appears that the door is firmly closed. Markle has turned down the upcoming “Suits” reboot.

Speaking in the interview with Variety, Markle said, “No. I’m done. I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not.”

While Markle has yet to announce what her next venture in life will be, no doubt the former actor and podcaster will find a new passion that will eat up what little time she has away from her children.
