President Joe Biden and Taylor Swift may just be the two most well-known people in the country. And some might say that Swift is even more beloved than the president.

Biden is currently fighting to be re-elected and serve another term as the president of the United States, and he believes that an endorsement from the one-and-only Taylor Swift could help secure that win.

53% of Americans Are Taylor Swift Fans

In fact, the tour was so successful that Taylor’s team added 15 more shows in North America at the end of 2024.

Taylor Has Even Made Fans in the NFL

Taylor Swift’s fans are wildly interested in her personal life, and as the superstar recently started dating Travis Kelce, an NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs, she now has a whole new genre of support.

The NFL has even capitalized on Taylor’s presence, cutting to her watching from a private box several times throughout the games. And many report that games where Taylor is present have a dramatic increase in viewership, especially among young adult females.

Taylor only Recently Began Sharing Her Political Preferences

For years, Taylor Swift kept her political affiliations private from her fans. However, in 2020, she told the world that she would “proudly vote” for Biden and Harris in the upcoming election.

Because, as she said, “under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs.”

President Biden Wants an Official Endorsement This Year

But this year, Biden’s campaign team doesn’t just want one quote from the singing sensation; they are hoping for an official endorsement from Taylor.

Taylor’s Words Actually Make a Difference

Getting an official endorsement from Taylor Swift would undoubtedly help the current president stay in office. Not only does she have millions of fans eligible to vote, but it seems that Taylor’s words actually make a real difference.

While some argue that Taylor cannot be credited with all those new voters, most agree that she likely had something to do with the significant influx.

Taylor Swift Fans Are Both Democrats and Republicans

It’s important to note that only 55% of Taylor Swift fans are reportedly democrats, the other 45% identify as republicans.

So, some say that while a public endorsement of Joe Biden may help sway some of her fans who are on the fence about the upcoming election, it’s unlikely that republicans will simply change sides because the singer told them to.

Young Americans Aren’t Planning to Vote

However, some note that Taylor Swift’s endorsement, not only for Biden but for her fans to get out and vote, could directly influence the election.

According to the US Census Bureau, only 49% of Americans aged 18 to 29 plan to vote in the 2024 election. And as a large majority of Taylor’s fans fall into this age bracket, encouragement from her could get people to the polls, as well as voting for Biden.
