Biden Admin Looking for Taylor Swift’s Endorsement for 2024 Election

President Joe Biden and Taylor Swift may just be the two most well-known people in the country. And some might say that Swift is even more beloved than the president. 

Biden is currently fighting to be re-elected and serve another term as the president of the United States, and he believes that an endorsement from the one-and-only Taylor Swift could help secure that win. 

53% of Americans Are Taylor Swift Fans

Taylor Swift was named the “Time Magazine” Person of the Year in 2023 for her undeniable influence throughout the country and the world.

According to a survey conducted by Morning Consult, 53% of American adults agreed they are fans of Taylor Swift, and 16% claimed to be avid fans. 

The Eras Tour Sold More than 4.1 Million Tickets

Swift traveled around the country and the world last year performing on her now-famous Eras Tour. Tickets were not cheap, but over 4.1 million people paid in order to see the beloved singer on stage.

In fact, the tour was so successful that Taylor’s team added 15 more shows in North America at the end of 2024.

Taylor Has Even Made Fans in the NFL

Taylor Swift’s fans are wildly interested in her personal life, and as the superstar recently started dating Travis Kelce, an NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs, she now has a whole new genre of support.

The NFL has even capitalized on Taylor’s presence, cutting to her watching from a private box several times throughout the games. And many report that games where Taylor is present have a dramatic increase in viewership, especially among young adult females.

Taylor only Recently Began Sharing Her Political Preferences

For years, Taylor Swift kept her political affiliations private from her fans. However, in 2020, she told the world that she would “proudly vote” for Biden and Harris in the upcoming election.

Because, as she said, “under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs.”

President Biden Wants an Official Endorsement This Year

But this year, Biden’s campaign team doesn’t just want one quote from the singing sensation; they are hoping for an official endorsement from Taylor.

Some have even said that the president will be at one of her concerts this fall as the Era Tour continues to solidify the relationship.

Taylor’s Words Actually Make a Difference

Getting an official endorsement from Taylor Swift would undoubtedly help the current president stay in office. Not only does she have millions of fans eligible to vote, but it seems that Taylor’s words actually make a real difference.

According to a poll from “Newsweek,” 18% of voters reported that they are “more likely” or even “significantly more likely” to vote for anyone Swift has endorsed.

35,000 People Registered to Vote after Taylor Told Them To

Last September, Taylor Swift encouraged her fans and followers on social media to register to vote. And consequently, there were a  whopping 35,000 new registered voters within the next few weeks.

While some argue that Taylor cannot be credited with all those new voters, most agree that she likely had something to do with the significant influx.

Taylor Swift Fans Are Both Democrats and Republicans

It’s important to note that only 55% of Taylor Swift fans are reportedly democrats, the other 45% identify as republicans.

So, some say that while a public endorsement of Joe Biden may help sway some of her fans who are on the fence about the upcoming election, it’s unlikely that republicans will simply change sides because the singer told them to.

Young Americans Aren’t Planning to Vote

However, some note that Taylor Swift’s endorsement, not only for Biden but for her fans to get out and vote, could directly influence the election.

According to the US Census Bureau, only 49% of Americans aged 18 to 29 plan to vote in the 2024 election. And as a large majority of Taylor’s fans fall into this age bracket, encouragement from her could get people to the polls, as well as voting for Biden.

Taylor Swift Could Face Controversy if She Weighs in This Year

Currently, Taylor Swift is beloved by the young and old, men and women, democrats and republicans. But if she does decide to endorse President Joe Biden for the 2024 election, she may face some serious controversy.

What people love about Taylor is that she doesn’t have a strong political stance. They love that she sings, supports her boyfriend in the NFL, and plays sold out shows with an incredible amount of energy. But not everyone wants her to use her fame to sway voters.

Will Taylor Swift Endorse Biden for 2024?

While Biden’s administration has been working to get the endorsement from Taylor Swift, the singer and her public relations team have said nothing to confirm or deny that she will do so.

For now, the world will simply have to wait and see if the beloved superstar does publicly support the president, and even more importantly, if that support actually sways the upcoming election.
